Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

We collect personal data directly from you, primarily when you fill in our Will Instruction Form, contact us, or engage our services. Depending on which of our services you use, this can include:

• Identity data: full name, NRIC/passport number, nationality, date of birth, marital status.
• Contact data: mobile number, email address, home address.
• Family and relationship data: details of your spouse, children, and other family members, including step- or adopted children.
• Estate planning data: details of your executors, guardians, beneficiaries (including any organizations or charities you name), the assets or gifts you wish to distribute, and any exclusions and your reasons for them.
• Data about third parties you name: where you provide details of your executors, witnesses, beneficiaries, or guardians, you are also providing us with their personal data. Please make sure you have their permission to do so, and that the details you give us are accurate.
• Correspondence: records of calls, emails, and messages between you and us.
• Technical data: limited data such as IP address and browser type, collected automatically when you use our website or submit our forms, for security and spam-prevention purposes.

Where you are referred to us by a financial consultant or another professional you have separately engaged, that professional may pass on information you have already given them, with your consent, so we can begin preparing your Will without asking you to repeat everything.

2. Why we collect it

We use your personal data to:

• Prepare, coordinate, and arrange the drafting of your Will and related documents;
• Verify your identity, as required for a document of this nature;
• Communicate with you about your engagement, including scheduling, drafts, and confirmations;
• Coordinate with the paralegal, Will Writer, witnesses, and other professionals involved in preparing your Will;
• Maintain records in case we are called upon to verify the circumstances of your Will's preparation, including in the event of a legal dispute;
• Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations; and
• Respond to general enquiries made through our website.

3. Consent

By submitting our Will Instruction Form, signing our Letter of Engagement, or otherwise providing us with your personal data, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of that data as described in this policy.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by giving us reasonable notice, using the contact details in Section 13. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of anything we did with your data before you withdrew it, but it may mean we're unable to continue preparing or updating your Will until the matter is resolved.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We disclose it only where necessary, to:

• The paralegal or Will Writer assigned to draft your Will, based on the instructions you provide;
• Witnesses arranged for the signing of your Will, who may retain a copy of the final, signed Will solely for their own records, to be referred to only if they are later called upon as a witness;
• Other professionals in our network (for example, financial consultants or licensed advisors), but only where you have separately consented to that referral, or where they referred you to us in the first place and already hold the relevant information with your consent;
• Our service providers, who host our website, process form submissions, and deliver our internal notifications (see Section 5); and
• Regulators, courts, or authorities, where we are legally required to, or where necessary to establish, exercise, or defend our legal rights.

5. Overseas transfer

Some of the service providers we rely on to run our website and internal notifications (for example, our web hosting and email delivery providers) may process data on servers located outside Singapore. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data continues to receive a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA, including by using reputable providers who maintain their own data protection and security commitments.

6. How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as it's needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law. For Will Writing engagements specifically:

• Our drafting partner deletes your Will Writing form and drafts once your Will has been finalised.
• We retain a copy of your engagement records for five years after your passing, or delete them within five days if you engage us to rewrite your Will, whichever happens first. This window reflects the period during which questions about how your Will was prepared could reasonably still arise.
• Witnesses may retain a copy of the final Will for their own records, for the same purpose, until it is no longer needed.

General enquiries submitted through our contact form that don't lead to an engagement are kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you, and are deleted periodically thereafter.

7. Keeping it safe

We use reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, or similar risks, including restricting access to those who need it to do their work, and transmitting form submissions over encrypted connections. 8. Your rights

Under the PDPA, you can:

• Ask what data we hold about you and how it has been used or disclosed in the past year;
• Ask us to correct an error or omission in your personal data;
• Withdraw your consent to our collection, use, or disclosure of your data (see Section 3); and
• Raise a complaint if you believe we've handled your data incorrectly.

To exercise any of these, contact us using the details in Section 13. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request, and in some cases the PDPA allows or requires us to decline a request (for example, where doing so would reveal another person's personal data, or where we're legally required to keep a record).

9. Cookies

Our website does not use non-essential tracking or advertising cookies. If this changes, we'll update this section and, where required, ask for your consent first.

10. Calls and messages

If you give us your mobile number, we may call, text, or WhatsApp you about your enquiry or engagement, this is not considered marketing under the PDPA's Do Not Call provisions if it relates to a service you've asked us about. We do not send unsolicited marketing messages to Singapore telephone numbers registered with the Do Not Call Registry without your clear, separate consent.

11. Children's data

Our services are intended for adults. Where you provide details of your children or other minors (for example, as beneficiaries or in connection with guardianship), we collect that data solely as part of preparing your Will, and handle it with the same protections described in this policy.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our practices or the law. We'll post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date. If a change is significant, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know.
